I do not see a category of Canadians who fought in the War of Independence and I know a few of my ancestors came down from Quebec. Is there a list of soldiers and a way to find connections?

I was attempting to add the second wife of Silas Deane (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Deane-548) and discovered the profile is protected. The proof is pretty solid. Can someone help? I left a comment in the Silas Deane profile that spells it all out. Happy to dig deeper if you feel it's needed - it's a fun connection to Benjamin Franklin!

Hi! I have some questions/suggestions about Category: Fayette County Militia, Virginia Militia, American Revolution.

It is categorized under Category: Fayette County, Virginia, but that county was created in 1831. It was the second of the name. The first of the name was created in 1780 from Kentucky County, Virginia, but it does not have a category. People living in that county between 1780 and 1792 (when it became Fayette County, Kentucky) should be categorized under Category: District of Kentucky.

If no objection, I'd like to change it to be categorized under Category: District of Kentucky (removing the category for the Fayette County, Virginia that was created in 1831).

The other concern is the text - it says Bedford County, but I think that was just a copy/paste error (an oversight in updating the copied text). Again, if no objection, I'd like to change it to Fayette County. I'd also like to add the dates (1780-1792) for the correct Fayette County, Virginia and add a link to the Kentucky section of Space: Virginia Counties and Parishes: 1776-1792 (Kentucky).

Cheers, Liz

edited to correct category name -- District of Kentucky instead of Kentucky District, Virginia

May I make the following edits to the profile of Friedrich W A H F Steuben, aka Baron von Steuben, Steuben-3?

1. Delete the duplicate Wikipedia link at bottom of profile, and replace the remaining link with the standard WT markup link to his Wikipedia page?

2. Modify the source link 'US & Canada Passenger' by moving the phase "From behind the ancestry.com subscription wall:" to back behind the bulleted link so that the phrase isn't just floating around in between the source links?

3. Remove the cut and pasted, copyrighted, two part article on "Steuben House History" from the biography and add a link to the free space page Space:Steuben_House which duplicates the two part article in whole? The article is not genealogically relevant for the most part, and this would help comply with Help:Copying_Text.

Enjoy Genealogy, Warren Kuntz

These are excellent suggestions for improvement to Steuben-3. I recommend you post a similar comment to the Steuben-3 profile stating that you plan to make these changes (for the benefit of the profile manager and other interested followers). Then, if there is no discussion, proceed after a few days.

Hall-14922 please see the comments on this profile and if you feel that the "Sr." and Jr." on this family line should be deleted as the Guide Line says, Never use it if it is an after death thing............. up to you go for it.

I think it should stay so some of us don't get the wrong data on the wrong person, which happens ALL of the time. But then that is just me. and since you are one of the managers.

Back in April I requested help adding Sarah (Cobb) Paine (1744-1816) as the mother of Maria Antoinette (Paine) Greele (1782-1842). Wikitree is not letting me add the relationship because Robert Treat Paine (1731-1814) is project protected. Even though he is ALREADY the father of Maria Antoinette.

Could someone in the project please just make the attachment? I have a suggestion I would like to clear. And I am the leader of the Treat One Name Study, so I would like to get this little task taken care of.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Team, I had inherited ownership of this profile Lynch-6344 which is linked to your project .. have received the following request for change "This person is probably linked to incorrect parents. Review https://www.dsdi1776.com/signers-by-state/thomas-lynch-jr/ which is about Thomas Jr, b 1749 which states that his father had only the one son. Birthdays of his daughters and Thomas conflict with this profile and other linked sons." As this profile I now own is a Project-Protected Profile to your project can you review please suggested change and if appropriate delete the relevant relationships? Thanks

I find the projects/categories/stickers for the American Revolution project to be impossibly complicated. I would appreciate it if someone would sort out the appropriate labels for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Abbott-4752. He was a member of the Lincoln, Mass. militia, and was present at the Siege of Boston as well as the 19 April skirmish at Lexington.

I would like to add David Horner 288 to the 1776 project are we able to include him in a protected project?
