This PR addresses the contributor listing requirements in the README.md file:

Changes Made

  • Removed company affiliations from Emeritus Maintainers section:

    • Alex Boten (previously Lightstep)
    • Chris Kleinknecht (previously Google)
    • Owais Lone (previously Splunk)
    • Reiley Yang (previously Microsoft)
    • Srikanth Chekuri (previously signoz.io)
    • Yusuke Tsutsumi (previously Google)
  • Removed company affiliations from Emeritus Approvers section:

    • Ashutosh Goel (previously Cisco)
    • Carlos Alberto Cortez (previously Lightstep)
    • Christian Neumüller (previously Dynatrace)
    • Héctor Hernández (previously Microsoft)
    • Mauricio Vásquez (previously Kinvolk)
    • Nathaniel Ruiz Nowell (previously AWS)
    • Nikolay Sokolik (previously Oxeye)
    • Sanket Mehta (previously Cisco)
    • Tahir H. Butt (previously DataDog)

Verification

  • ✅ All contributor sections are already sorted alphabetically by first name
  • ✅ Current Maintainers and Approvers retain their company affiliations (as appropriate for active members)
  • ✅ Only emeritus members had company affiliations removed as requested
  • ✅ No changes needed in CONTRIBUTING.md (contains only generic role references)
  • ✅ Minimal changes made - only modified the specific lines containing company affiliations

The changes ensure emeritus member listings focus on the individual contributors without company context, while maintaining the alphabetical sorting that was already in place.

Fixes #16.
