The backflow PR does not contain that forward flow at this point, but reintroduces the removed version elements

There were several backflows after the dotnet/sdk PR was merged. The reintroduction might have been a result of a conflict resolution by someone participating in the PR, but if that's the case I can't find the commit in the PR that did so.
