Cognate with Uyghur كەلمەك / kelmek / кәлмәк; Karakhanid کَلْماكْ (kälmǟk, “to come”); Turkmen gelmek, Azerbaijani gəlmək, Turkish gelmek; Kazakh келу (kelu), Kyrgyz келүү (kelüü); Old Turkic 𐰚𐰠 (kl² /käl-/, “to come”).
