Currently the link to the stackoverflow.ai chatbot is put between the various links of the site, so on e.g. this site I get:
- Home - which links to crypto.stackexchange.com
- Questions - which links to crypto.stackexchange.com/questions
- Unanswered - which links to crypto.stackexchange.com/unanswered
- AI Assist (labs) - which links to stackoverflow.ai
- Tags - which links to crypto.stackexchange.com/tags
- Saves - which links to crypto.stackexchange.com/users/saves//saves/all.
This is followed by:
- Chat - which links to our Side Channel chat room and
- Users - which of course links to crypto.stackexchange.com/users
These are all site specific links - except for one. Can you spot it?
It is of course the "AI Assist one". AI assist is not part of the site that I moderate, nor does it have any particular link to it. It may occasionally show answers that contain information from the site (usually not) and it may show relevant links to answers on the site (usually not).
As moderator I should have been consulted for such a move according to the moderator agreement. It doesn't belong in the site specific links. Furthermore, our users should not be exposed to such an experimental feature without any explanation about how it operates.
As it currently stands I'm treating this as a UI bug and would like it moved or, preferably removed.
