Mürtschenalp, Glarus Nord, Kanton Glarus, Schweiz


Mürtschenalp is an alp (mountain pasture) in the Swiss canton of Glarus. It lies at an altitude of around 1490 metres above sea level in a western side valley of the Murg valley (canton Sankt Gallen).
Together with the Murg valley, the Mürtschen valley has been part of the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance since 1977.
In the past, copper ore was mined and there are also deposits of pitchblende.

(in German) As he correctly writes, Zn is almost completely missing and while olivenite is present, its Zn analogue, adamite, is very unlikely.
