  • The numbers are in: By 2030, 59% of the global workforce will need new digital skills for the AI economy. It’s time we put a stake in the ground and meet the moment. Earlier this week, we launched Microsoft Elevate and the AI Economy Institute, designed to ensure people, not just technology, are at the center of progress. Microsoft Elevate is about more than technology and skilling—it’s about empowering changemakers, communities, and countries to shape the future of AI with confidence and clarity. The AI Economy Institute will lead independent research to help societies adapt to the economic and social transformations of AI. Learn more about what to expect: https://msft.it/6044S7afI

  • Through Microsoft TechSpark, we’re supporting nonprofit organizations like TechBuffalo that are building an AI-ready workforce in Buffalo, New York. From Family Code Night to PowerUpTech and TechConnect, TechBuffalo’s programs are designed to meet people where they are. That could be a student coding in Minecraft, a parent learning to code alongside their child, a college intern placed with a local employer, or a nonprofit beginning to use digital tools. Veterans are starting second careers. And classrooms across Buffalo are preparing for new programs that bring tech directly into teaching and learning. These efforts are creating new pathways into technology and expanding access to opportunity across the region. https://msft.it/6046s18S6

  • Microsoft Elevate is a new organization focused on putting people first. From the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA), to Code.org , the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), these collaborations are opening doors for millions of learners and educators. Through Microsoft Elevate, we are supporting educators as they bring artificial intelligence into classrooms, equipping nonprofits with tools to expand digital access, and partnering with government agencies to advance workforce readiness. We are working to ensure no one is left behind as technology evolves. This is just the beginning. Together, we are building the infrastructure for opportunity in the artificial intelligence economy.

  • A new AI model trained to detect anomalies in breast MRI scans is learning to flag subtle changes, predict future risk, and support radiologists with clear, explainable insights. The model doesn’t just detect cancer with high accuracy, it shows radiologists exactly where to look. The result: fewer false positives, earlier interventions, and more equitable care. This isn’t about replacing human expertise, it’s about amplifying it. 👉 Read more from Juan M. Lavista Ferres: https://msft.it/6041sDQLx

  • Notre Dame is getting a digital twin thanks to AI. Microsoft will partner with the Ministère de la Culture and Iconem to create a digital replica of Paris’s newly restored, 862-year-old Gothic masterpiece. As part of our Culture AI initiative, we've helped digitally preserve heritage sites and moments since 2019—including Ancient Olympia in Greece, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, and more. Through collaborations that combine cutting-edge AI technology with deep historical knowledge, our Culture AI initiative helps safeguard languages, landmarks, and artifacts via digital replicas and data collaboration. We’re expanding this work to ensure that Europe’s cultural richness is both represented and accessible for generations to come. AI that doesn’t understand Europe’s languages, histories, and values can’t fully serve its people, its businesses, or its future. That’s why, today in Paris, we’re deepening our commitment to Europe’s digital future with two new initiatives focused on making what’s uniquely European—its languages and culture—more open and accessible. https://lnkd.in/egjbBbyi

  • The Microsoft AI Economy Institute reflects our commitment to ensuring that the benefits of AI are broadly shared. Led by Juan M. Lavista Ferres, the AI Economy Institute is a corporate think tank and research hub focused on how AI is transforming the way we work, learn, and live. It brings together researchers, social scientists, developers, and policymakers to generate insights and solutions that help societies adapt to the economic and social changes AI brings. The initial focus of this research centers on the future of education and workforce readiness. Through workshops, convenings, and applied research, the AI Economy Institute is helping shape a globally inclusive AI-powered future—ensuring the benefits of AI are broadly shared and the infrastructure for equitable growth is built alongside the technology. • Generative AI is reshaping how we work, create, and connect—but its potential depends on how responsibly it’s built. At Microsoft, we've developed a risk-based approach to AI governance across the AI lifecycle, but principled. That means embedding accountability into every layer of development, from early design to deployment and beyond. We’re not just building AI that works. We’re building AI that earns trust. Learn how we’re putting responsible AI into practice in our 2025 Responsible AI Transparency Report: https://msft.it/6043s6DQf

  • A new AI Co-Innovation Lab has opened at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, created in partnership with Microsoft, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and TitletownTech. The lab builds on Microsoft’s $3.3 billion investment in Wisconsin and a year of pilot engagements with local companies. In that time, teams have developed AI solutions for fault detection in industrial machinery, multilingual voice assistants for logistics, and tools to forecast supply chain lead times and manage hydroponic farms. Now in its permanent home, the lab connects organizations of all sizes with Microsoft engineers to define use cases, co-design solutions and build prototypes using Microsoft AI and cloud technologies. • 'Graphic Title' Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab in Wisconsin'. The announcement includes logos and names of the partnering organizations: Microsoft, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and TitletownTech. The text explains that this is the first Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab focused on manufacturing innovation. It describes the lab as a space where Wisconsin manufacturers and startups collaborate with Microsoft engineers to turn AI ideas into real solutions. The process includes co-design sessions to identify real-world challenges, and building prototypes using Microsoft AI and cloud tools. Below the text, there is a photo of several people standing behind a ceremonial ribbon at the lab’s opening event, suggesting a formal launch ceremony.
