  • Roughly half of the companies on the Forbes Global 2000 list have pledged net-zero targets for carbon emissions in 2050, according to Net Zero Tracker, a register of targets set by countries, states and regions, cities and large companies.
But which companies are making the most progress toward their goals? Forbes’ third annual list of Net Zero Leaders helps answer that, by presenting the 200 companies best on track to reducing or offsetting their greenhouse emissions from their own manufacturing processes, during their suppliers processes, or through consumers’ end usage of their product.
The list relies on data from research providers Morningstar and Sustainalytics to evaluate companies’ emissions projections, risk management, financial strength, governance and the company’s organizational preparedness. Each firm was considered within the context of its industry and the location of its business operations, to control for differing challenges. The top 200 companies made the list.
As with all Forbes lists, companies pay no fee to be evaluated or selected. For questions about this list, please email listdesk [at] forbes.com.
