The movie itself it fine. This is about the disc. The version I bought is a bootleg. It is the movie, it’s not a vhs rip, it is 16x9 enhanced. However I’m upset that it’s heavily interlaced and that it’s a dvd-r. No special features. I wish Sony would update this movie with a good remastered bluray.

    Never think that one person cannot make a difference. This heartwarming film has an excellent cast ; Gregory Peck, William Peterson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Joshua Zuehlke as Chuck. When a little league star pitcher decides to make a stand against nuclear weapons, he is met with resistance from friends and family. But he holds fast and soon the entire nation joins in. This is an idealistic film, but it makes the point that anyone can make a difference. Love this underrated film for it's heartfelt warmth, caring and dedication to a cause. You and your family owe it to yourselves to see this great film. Granted it is idealistic, but the message it conveys is a lesson all people need to learn, that you CAN make a difference, but it comes at a cost. This film inspired me to get more involved in animal abuse movements, and I owe a lot to the lesson this film has taught me. This film should be rated 10 stars for the sincerity of the message depicts.

    I saw this movie years ago and had a VHS copy that was never returned. This is a Saturday Feel Good movie. I first saw it on a Saturday afternoon when I was just taking it easy.

    It is a feel good movie that should be seen. I found out that some/ most of the cast did it for scale. A story of a boy who goes on a trip to the middle silos and felt disturbed. Excellent cast and story.

    It is fair to say that this movie changed my life. After several viewings of this movie I was inspired to engage in a spiritual fast, not in a belief that my fasting would have a direct impact on the world stage, and it had an impact upon those around me. For nearly three years I neither ate nor drank beverages from sun up to sun down. Then, I saw a news clip on CNN of the Berlin Wall coming down and I went to my colleagues and told them we needed to go to lunch. The world has changed and who we thought were the bad guys were guys who played from the same rule book as did we. Now there are players on the world stage who scoff at our rule book on civilized violence. Any person who believes that God wants us to kill other people for some silly difference of culture or tradition is so off the mark that, as a mental health professional, would qualify them for the label of insane. Amazing Grace and Chuck taught me that even the least significant action can have a tremendous effect upon the world spirit, be it little league baseball or fasting everyday. This movie is a great tool for educating people about world peace. It can change lives. BTW Greg Peck is awesome.

    Once again, here we are with the real world vs what some might LIKE it to be. My boss told me in no uncertain terms once that dreams are nice but that is something you do at home in bed at night- get real guy and grow up! I guess I have that wishful thinking that says anything is possible. What I can not understand is why would a MEGA star like Gregory Peck appear in a production that is "the Worst Ever!". I think we need to get off the merry-go-round of realism and start thinking outside the box - as one reviewer put it - The film is too didactic to be great, but its heart is in the right place. And that is where it hit me - in the heart - not the head. I was one of those kids that went ducking under my desk back in the 60's at my teachers direction to avoid a nuclear blast - YEAH - like that would work, what kind of fantasy is THAT? - so maybe I like to dream some and feel better about the world we live in, and this film takes me there. Bottom line, if all you want is the "real deal", move on this film is not for you.

    I have waited for this movie to come out on dvd for years and it has been worth the wait. It is one of those movies that few people ever paid attention to when it was released. In hindsight William Peterson became a star on CSI and Jaimie Lee Curtis has had a stellar career. Fine acting aside, it is a movie of hope and inspiration and a tremendous film for kids of all ages. I finally had my three sons see it, they are 15, 13 and 11 and they loved it. I have been raving about it for years and even though I had it on vhs I waited until they were a little older to appreciate it when I knew it was going to be released on dvd. Highly recommended and one of my favorite all-time movies. Gregory Peck adds that extra bit of credibility to a truly great picture. Outstanding.
